POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Qcells is seeking an experienced Desin Quality Control & Revision Activations Manager to help lead a Qcells entry into the New Homes space with solar, ESS, and load control for home builders.  You will be part of the new homes operations team, creating and developing systems and processes to optimize the efficiency of bringing systems online post PTO/Home Close.  You will play a critical role in establishing training guides, best practice documentation and resources for internal and external staff/contractors.  This role is pivotal in ensuring new residential projects are placed in service as quickly and completely as possible.   

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.    

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and maintain system activation best practices and deliverables required for new homes' interconnected power systems.
  • Provide data driven recommendations on cycle time reductions for close to activation duration.  
  • Support and manage activations field staff including identifying open tasks for all homes pending action that could lead to quicker activation.
  • Create efficient field resource allocation related to activations by establishing digital standards for project completion.
  • Utilize Qcells CRM tools to develop and maintain new homes department visibility into project activation status. This includes creation, maintenance, and improvement of dashboards to demonstrate performance and identify opportunities for quickest possible close- to- in-service cycles.
  • Periodic travel to interact directly with product manufacturers in the field and provide recommendations on product improvement to align with Qcells remote activation goals.
  • Interact with contractor representatives to provide technical support on efficient and complete commissioning practices including but not limited to commissioning handoffs, communication wire termination expectations, and OEM platform navigation coordination.
  • Collaborate on and maintain QA/QC expectations for pre activation preparation.  Collaborate to confirm system power checks on upcoming closings/PTOs.  
  • Assist in activations team recruitment, training, and management.
  • Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday shift schedule to ensure field support 6 days a week in collaboration with other managers. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years’ professional work experience including a minimum of 6+ years’ experience in residential new homes solar development or residential construction management.
  • Deep understanding of the homebuilding solar industry and its market dynamics.
  • Ability to ideate, develop and execute strategic plans, in close collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced customer-centric environment where priorities may change quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, team management, including managing multiple contractors.
  • Impeccable attention to detail as well as a detailed analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems and adjust to changing conditions and situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas, vision and strategy in internal and external forums.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
