SUMMARY

 

The Senior Accountant will provide accounting and finance support to the Corporate Finance team and will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager and the Assistant Accounting Manager. This position reports to the Head of Corporate Finance, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position reports to the Irvine, CA office but will maintain a hybrid schedule of working out of their home office and the Irvine, CA office. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 5% of the time.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly/yearly closing
  • Maintains project related records, including contracts and change orders 
  • Process vendor invoices related to projects as well as the general, administrative, and non-operating expense invoices.
  • Review and process employee timesheets 
  • Review account balance for active projects 
  • Performs budget vs. actual analysis and submit variance report to management 
  • Prepare project BS and PL upon request 
  • Periodically review project status and seek approval for the write-off of any project cost that cannot be collected 
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion/sale 
  • Estimate cost to accrue when projects are sold and estimate project margins 
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors 
  • Collaborates with the other team members to support overall department goals and objectives 
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy 
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed; and 
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position
  • Performs other accounting and finance duties as needed 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another business-related field 
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience 
  • Hands-on experience in accounting, financial closing, bookkeeping, and ledger management 
  • Previous experience working in a multinational company preferred 
  • Previous experience working in a construction business is preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly 
  • Strong, self-motivated team player 
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook

The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. If candidates are considered for a nationwide role, then the compensation range will follow the marketability of the job function within those states. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
