CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT

SUMMARY

 

The Civil Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations, general safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, commissioning, coordination with other superintendent and project leaders on the jobsite.  This position reports to the General Civil Superintendent or another senior management personnel that the CEO may designateThis position may be expected to travel up to 100%, or as needed for the project.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs solar/construction personnel and/or installation subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications;
  • Coordination of personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules;
  • Support the team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities;
  • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action;
  • Follow and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy;
  • Identify welding certification, training and experience appropriate for assignment scope;
  • Coordinate and implement resources and activities necessary to maintain a safe and quality execution;
  • Assure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance.
  • Coordination with subcontractors on civil techniques and requirements
  • Advice site teams on equipment required to build Civil scope
  • Identify testing required per projects scope of work on roads compaction and fence
  • Communication with engineering parties to meet civil requirements
  • Manage manpower needed to complete project assignment
  • Maintain and supervise tool room and keep adequate storage
  • Coordination with procurement to order civil material
  • Superintendents must train crews on installation activities 
  • Regular attendance in accordance with the company's policy is essential.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as directed by supervisory or senior management.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience supporting the constructions of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects
  • Solar PV or wind power project experience, preferred
  • Willingness to travel and relocate from project to project
  • Excellent skills in  project management tool(Procore), and possess strong technical aptitude
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Excellent written and verbal communication skills=
  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • May have to interact with Owner’s Field Representative and outside testing agencies
  • Experience operating construction equipment and surveying equipment
  • Knowledge of installation methods for the different civil systems in the industry
  • SWPPP crews
  • SPCC compliance
  • Compaction Reports
  • Drawing As-builts
  • Travel: up to 100% as needed
