POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Offering Development in the Offering Development Team establishes strategies and policies to maximize the product value of Qcells' various businesses for the residential market in conjunction with hardware(HW) products and collaborates with each related department to increase the utilization rate of Qcells' products to increase profitability and sustainability. This position drives and coordinates hardware product concepts or strategies among various stakeholders, including sales organization, development organization, and organizations of Qcells’ downstream businesses for residential solar systems such as rooftop solar, inverter, and battery. This position will collect and organize requirements from Qcells’ HES business stakeholders and sales organizations, deliver them to the engineering and development organizations, and coordinate product functions and schedules between the sales and development teams to ensure optimized product development and release. This position also conducts research, plans, and launches various offerings in relation to rooftop solar, inverter, battery, and other home electrification solutions for homeowners to support HES business. This position interactively works with marketing, sales, engineering, and research & development teams in HQCA and Hanwha Qcells in Korea.

This position may include a comprehensive product marketing role that ensures that products are properly launched, and customers can utilize them appropriately across the various design tools and software platforms used in the U.S. residential market. It also may derive the optimal combination and development plan of software tools that can benefit customers and Qcells.

This position is based out of our San Francisco office, with an in-office schedule set at the discretion of the team in accordance with the Company’s policy and procedures. The role requires flexibility to support travel for multiple projects in various geographical regions up to 25% of the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strategies or policies for hardware products (PV, Inverter, Battery, and so on).
  • Create and build new offerings to be released under the Qcells HES business.
  • Provide residential solar and solar + storage market trend & market intelligence to the sales and R&D (Analyze competitors’ product & program & service portfolio and design.)
  • Align with the internal sales organizations on product requirements, product roadmap, product offers, product features, and product introduction timelines.
  • Align with the development team and factories on the manufacturing plan, capacity allocation, production timeline, and product performance projection. Communicate with good clarity to sales and customers of such plans and projections.
  • Own the offering introduction process in the North American markets, including product marketing materials for both internal and external use.
  • Support cost analysis or risk assessment with Planning to set market sales price.
  • Ensure that offerings are properly launched, and customers can utilize them appropriately across the various design tools and software platforms used in the U.S. residential market.
  • Derive the optimal combination and development plan of software tools that can benefit customers and Qcells.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS EE, ME, Industrial or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of value creation to the homeowner with rooftop solar systems especially in PV, solar inverters, batteries, EV chargers, Smart homes, and power electronics.
  • Strong knowledge/experience of residential energy product configuration for US homeowners.
  • 7+ years of experience in the residential sector delivering new products and services.
  • Strong communication skills with multi-national teammates in the US and other countries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Understanding of residential grid services, subscription services, etc.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, CRM knowledge, API integration
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Residential inverter/battery/EV charger/Smart home manufacturer and/or installer company and/or residential energy business experience
  • Third Party Ownership experience
  • Residential system engineering/design experience

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
