Manager, Grid & Energy Service Development – Proposal

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Proposal Manager to join our team at Qcells. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and develop competitive proposals for distributed energy resources (DERs) in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) issued by power utilities and other stakeholders. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that proposals are complete, accurate, and submitted on time. This position reports to the Head of Grid & Energy Service Development or another senior leader that the President of the Company may designate. This position is based out of our San Francisco office, with an in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the Company’s policies. Remote options could be considered for exceptional cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Track RFP deadlines and manage the submission process to ensure timely delivery.
• Review and interpret RFP documents to ensure compliance with all requirements.
• Lead the preparation and submission of RFP responses for distributed energy resources projects.
• Develop win strategies, proposal themes, and unique value propositions to differentiate Qcells from competitors.
• Work closely with technical, legal, financial, and project teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposal accuracy.
• Collaborate with legal and financial teams to develop contract terms and financial structures.
• Manage the proposal timeline, ensuring all stakeholders meet their deadlines.
• Review and edit proposals for clarity, conciseness, and quality.
• Present proposals to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of key value points and technical advantages.
• Maintain a library of past proposal materials and best practices to streamline future submissions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in proposal management for energy projects, particularly battery storage or renewable energy sectors.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in proposal management software and MS Office tools.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
