POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a software leader with expertise in the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) domain to drive innovative solutions for the renewable energy market. The ideal candidate will combine technical acumen, energy domain knowledge, and leadership skills to deliver impactful, large-scale energy application projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Expertise working with Distributed Energy Resources:
- Expert-level understanding of DER domain and renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.
- Familiarity with demand response programs and virtual power plant (VPP) concepts.
Software Engineering expertise:
- Deep expertise in software architecture and design, cloud architecture.
- Experience with Azure cloud architecture.
- Hands-on expertise in Python programming.
- Familiarity with IoT protocols and technologies.
- Experience in API development and integration.
Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Knowledge of forecasting techniques and algorithms.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in energy management.
People and Project Management:
- Proven experience managing complex software projects with cross-functional teams.
- Mentor team members to enhance technical expertise and professional growth.
- 3+ years managing software engineering teams.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to simplify and explain complex concepts.
- Adaptability to navigate rapidly changing technologies and regulations.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or PhD in engineering or computer science
- Understanding of grid operations and management
- Proficiency in real-time control and optimization techniques for power systems.
- Experience with algorithms related to load balancing and power flow analysis.
- Proficiency in secure coding practices, including compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with energy regulations and policies
