POSITION DESCRIPTION:
ENFIN is a financial services company that provides financing for residential solar PV customers. ENFIN is looking for a Accounting Manager to perform the critical accounting role of related to residential renewable energy business at ENFIN. We are looking for someone who has thorough experience with GAAP accounting, considerable experience with finance-related accounting issues (e.g. gain on sale, unrealized revenue, hedge accounting). In this role you will also need a high level of attention to detail and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders is key, in addition to assisting with activities across multiple departments and functions to help drive our residential renewable finance business. This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote options are available for exceptional cases.

Responsibilities 
  • Serve as the lead point of contact on process creation and enhancement, including; financial statements, accounting supporting workpapers, SOX and internal control matters
  • Establish processes for key deliverables and lead continuous improvement activities to achieve effective, efficient execution.  
  • Oversee and ensure timely and complete monthly close and financial reporting.  
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Financial Planning and Analysis, Banking and Finance Infrastructure, Payment Processing) to build an understanding of the key processes within the organization’s operations.  
  • Optimize accounting processes by identifying opportunities for automation and building for scale by ensuring all solutions are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies  

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting, finance or related area
  • CPA license
  • 5+ years progressive accounting and/or finance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years as either: 1) Big 4 (or similar firm) Audit Manager, or 2) Controller responsible for creating financial statements and managing audits   
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition policies, working with subject matter consultants, and writing technical accounting memos  
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with internal controls and process improvements   
  • Experience working with ERP systems and databases   
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment   
  • Ability to influence across the company and interact at all levels   
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills 
  • Knowledge of financial systems, analysis methodologies and technical standards applicable to corporate accounting and finance  
  • Professional presence and ability to lead teams and influence others   
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines   
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Preferred applicants will have 2+ years direct experience, including technical accounting documentation, within one of these two fields of expertise:
  • Residential or Commercial Solar Energy Industry – including Accounting for:
  • The large-scale Construction of Solar Assets
  • Solar or other energy ITC Tax Credits and/or applications
  • Sales of Tax Credits, including through Tax Equity Structures or Joint Ventures
  • Third Party Ownership (TPO) of residential solar assets and the related customer contracts
  • PPA (Purchased Power) Agreements
  • Hedge and TPO specific accounting knowledge  
  • Asset Securitization and Banking Industry - including Accounting for:
  • Asset-backed debt securitization and sales
  • Knowledge of related debt securities markets
  • Including calculation of Gain/Loss on Sale of Securitizations
  • Available for Sale (AFS) Loan Assets, and related estimation for credit loss
  • Revolving credit facilities, IR swaps, and related hedge accounting designations and documentation

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
