POSITION DESCRIPTION:

EnFin is looking for a self-starting individual to assist in managing the HES finance function, including managing the accounting for our equity method investment in our third-party ownership “(TPO”) Joint Venture with one of the world’s premier alternative asset managers, as well as assisting with oversight of accounting matters in all HES consolidated companies.  The Accounting Associate Director will be responsible for the accounting for sales to the joint venture, and the accounting for our equity method investment in the Joint Venture.  This will require strong analytical and technical skills and the ability to maintain complex discounted cash flow models.  We are seeking a strong accountant who embodies our values of Trailblazer (Bold ideas, Bold actions), Stewardship (Greater compassion, Greater purpose), and Paragon (Beyond good, Beyond excellent.)  We are looking for someone who has strong managerial skills, deep knowledge of accounting, strong excel skills, and experience leading monthly close processes.  Communicating with internal stakeholders and across functions is key, in addition to assisting with managing activities across multiple departments and functions to help drive accounting for our TPO projects. 

 

EnFin’s direct parent company also has other consolidated subsidiaries that need strong accounting leadership and project management. We are looking for someone who thrives in a multicultural, ambiguous, fast paced environment, can use great judgement to make decisions and display empathy and resilience. In this role you will need to be creative and collaborative with critical thinking skills and execute team-wide initiatives 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong experience with ASC 606, and ability to implement the revenue recognition model and the GAAP accounting treatment for TPO, including the interaction between ASC 606 and ASC 323.
  • Strong excel skills and the ability to manage a complex discounted cash flow model.
  • Knowledge of TPO (third party ownership) financing structures and appropriate accounting treatment preferred, but not required.
  • Familiar with residential PPA structures and IRC section 48 Investment Tax Credit preferred, but not required.
  • Collaborate with advisory and audit teams, manage, and execute work streams, audit preparation and audit documentation management, and work with cross functional teams. 
  • Participate in and lead ad hoc special projects for the team, and cross functional teams, as needed.
  • Knowledge of asset-backed securitizations and ability to assist with selected improvements in ABS accounting processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the controllership of all consolidated entities.
  • Ability to manage high growth and demanding environments.
  • Strong process management and process improvement stills.
  • Knowledge of internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxsley or K/Sox) and ability to lead implementation of internal controls and control documentation. Technical accounting research skills.
  • Exceptional spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong soft-skills and ability to lead and manage people. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another business-related field.  
  • Minimum of 10-15+ years of professional accounting experience.  
  • CPA and professional experiences at an accounting firm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly.  
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of modeling, and documentation.
  • Monthly close process experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience working in a multinational company and across cultures is a plus. 
  • Working at the San Francisco office or remotely.
  • Initiative-taking leadership and team player.  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a challenging environment. 
  • Solar financing or Banking sector with a financing knowledge and expertise a plus, but not required.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
