POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Accounting Associate will provide administrative support to the Corporate Finance Department and work closely with the Sr. Accounting Manager. This position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager or another member of senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate.

This position will be based out of either our office in San Francisco, CA or Irvine, CA with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote options are available for exceptional cases. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the timely end-of-month closing and proper maintenance of the general ledger and all related sub ledgers. This includes preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations to assure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Prepare period-end account reconciliations and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • GL Account reconciliation and analysis as well as other analytical tasks as assigned.
  • Conduct complex financial/business analysis, including the preparation of accompanying reports. Based on the results, identify issues/problems and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare and review cash flow reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual).
  • Assist with quarterly review and annual external audit and prepare assigned schedules for the quarterly review and annual audit.
  • Work with non-U.S. based parent company, subsidiaries, and other affiliated companies.
  • Accurately prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes and display the willingness to take on special projects both individually and as part of a team.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another business-related field with a minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience with mid-to-large organization
  • Experience with full cycle AP and AR
  • Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task and prioritize
  • Hands-on experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and ledger management
  • Professional experience handling monthly, quarterly, and yearly account closings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present and explain complex information
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP etc.)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in solar or renewable energy industry
  • Previous experience working in a multinational company

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
