POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an In-House Senior Counsel on-site in our Irvine, California office. You will join a collegial team of 13 legal professionals and report to the Sr. Corporate Counsel.  You will be given responsibilities primarily in managing and litigation-related matters for EnFin (www.enfin.com), our residential solar business offering solar loans, leases, and power purchase agreements.  Responsibilities will include managing, responding to, and resolving attorney demand letters and governmental inquiries relating to residential solar consumer complaints.  Our legal team is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years and there will be exciting opportunities for career growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing, responding to, and resolving attorney demand letters and governmental inquiries relating to residential solar consumer complaints. 
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and governmental agencies (as needed) to resolve disputes.
• Manage outside counsel and provide strategic direction to outside counsel as needed. 
• Manage and control outside counsel spend.
• Provide weekly tracking of litigation-related matters, including attorney demand letters and governmental inquiries.
• Create internal policies and procedures on responding to attorney demand letters and governmental inquiries relating to residential solar consumer complaints. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic business-oriented legal advice to the business.
• Ability to persuade our business on litigation positions most advantageous to our company.
• Ability to work proactively and close cases in a timely manner.
• Create legal and commercial forms and processes and educate the business on important legal and commercial matters.
• Other legal matters as needed, including contracts, data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7-9+ years of legal experience in litigation, in both federal and state courts.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing projects.
• Capability and experience to work independently and with a team
• Top law firm training preferred
• Some in-house experience preferred, but not required
• Experience working for a direct-to-homeowner solar financing, distributed energy and/or TPO business at a clean energy or global technology company

• JD from a top law school preferred
• Membership in at least one state bar

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
