PARTS TECHNICIAN

Location: Dalton, GA

Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt

Work Hour: Monday – Friday 8:00PM to 5:00AM

SUMMARY

The Spare Parts Clerk is an hourly, non-bargaining unit position at Hanwha Qcells USA Inc. manufacturing facility located in Dalton, GA.

This role of Spare Parts Clerk is responsible for coordinating the flow of daily materials and services required to meet the production, equipment, and operational needs. The Spare Parts Clerk will also be trained in the responsibilities of materials flow, inventory, and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for all aspects of storeroom operation, including receiving, inspection, storing, inventory control, issuing and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintaining a clean, efficient, orderly, safe, and secure storeroom and storage areas.
  • Ethical and appropriate business relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Daily contact with equipment and production personnel and participation directly in maintenance planning to ensure part availability and ready suppliers for jobs when required.
  • Physical inventory counts.
  • Clerical support to equipment leadership.
  • Use SAP to order and manage spare parts in a timely manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or supply management.
  • Commitment to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Customer-orientation and focus (both internal and external).
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows-based programs and internet skills.
  • Willingness and ability to operate a forklift (will train).
  • Ability to work diligently on own (self-starter).
  • Desire to learn and take on additional responsibilities as directed.
  • Willingness to work any shift, to include weekends and holidays, as operating conditions required.
  • Resume detailing your work history and education.
  • Discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
  • Excellent time management skills and execute all orders and/or demands in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle basic tools.
  • Strong knowledge of safety precautions.
  • Able to tolerate a fast-paced environment in areas that are not climate controlled.
  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player.
  • Have mechanical mentality/ability to rebuild certain parts for re-use purposes.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to stand and walk in the production area throughout the workday.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds without restriction.
  • Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Hanwha Qcells USA Inc.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational Technical School certificate or higher education degree.
  • Experience in warehouse and/or storeroom supply in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Previous experience with inventory control.
