POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The TPO Installation Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining reports to stakeholders at all levels. They will be accountable for maintaining reporting structure and timelines, soliciting responses from project or team leaders and reporting non-conformance to management. The ideal candidate will be experienced with management reporting and project tracking. Additionally, they should be highly organized and self-motivated.

TPO is poised to be the fastest growing segment of solar due to rising interest rates and the Inflation Reduction Act. QCells is particularly well positioned to take advantage of this market due to the domestic content tax credit adder, existing relationships with dealers, and a quality point-of-sale financing platform. The TPO team is responsible for ensuring the quality of our assets.

Key to success in this position is comfort in creation mode. This role is joining an evolving team as it moves into its permanent structure within the organization. A focus on the ability to build from scratch and iterate as improvements are realized is paramount. Residential solar, specifically TPO experience is a bonus but not required. Although a general familiarity with EPC construction is a must.

This position is located in Remote, US and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 20%.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Front-line supervision for all project dealer pipelines and phases of construction
  • Enforcement of quality control, scheduling, customer relations, and promoting teamwork with Project Manager
  • Ensure work performed reflects the plans and specifications outlined for the project within desired time frames and standards set by the company and the Project Manager
  • Act as the primary on-site representative of the company on construction matters
  • Interview prospective dealers and project personnel
  • Review installation quality and report of risks to management
  • Inspect locations for process conformance
  • Provide training to dealers on process both pre-onboarding and post
  • Motivate and effectively accomplish tasks through delegation to others to maximize production at the job site and minimizing downtime - high level of interpersonal skills is essential
  • Work with local AHJs to determine dealer ability to fulfill
  • Determine days and labor needed for installation schedules, work with Project Manager on per-project schedules
  • Create and manage 2 month look ahead schedule for all installation crews and ensure all materials, preparation, permits, inspections are confirmed so that all construction tasks are conducted safely, on time, and with the highest quality
  • Identify and schedule additional education and on-the-job training for installation crew
  • Document safety incidents, manage disciplinary actions, perform formal annual reviews with installation personnel
  • Ensure all installation personnel have proper PPE and tools
  • Assist Project Manager with pre-construction meetings and weekly construction meetings
  • Assist with construction tasks as needed and required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • 5+ years’ experience in operations
  • 5 + years’ experience in solar construction
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • Project management experience
  • Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
