SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to oversee our production operations. By monitoring employees and organizing workflows, this role will successfully carry out responsibilities to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly. The supervisor reports to the Director of Production Operation and oversees the duties of the production area, including shared accountability of a specific portion of an operations function. This role is responsible for managing labor on the shift, monitoring Machine Operator performance, and maintaining training records according to the company’s policies and procedures. This role will participate in problem-solving, associate engagement, and addressing issues on the line. The Production Shift Supervisor must be able to perform all machine Operator duties as required. The overall goal of this position is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and supervise shift operations to ensure they meet productivity targets and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring team compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive team-oriented environment to achieve goals. Motivates workers to achieve their highest potential contribution.
  • Involved in interviewing, training, and supervising production employees, including evaluation and basic disciplinary activities. Facilitates resolutions of employee issues.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled formal employee reviews, with routine feedback reviews. Organizes hourly worker overtime coverage.
  • Provides detailed knowledge of the production process in support of the production team.
  • Involved in the improvement of operation methods, machines, and product quality.
  • Solves work problems and assesses the training needs of the team.
  • Facilitates operators’ compliance to product specifications and standards.
  • Adjusts team's work plan to meet production schedules, including delegation of resources and manpower.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activities to support the production process.
  • Responsible for maintaining records and reports. Regularly reports line status and plant activities.
  • Daily review all applicable quality alerts to keep you informed that a defect has escaped and reduce the risk of a repeat failure while a permanent corrective action is put in place.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized in an effort to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of the product being damaged.
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e., Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
