CORPORATE STRATEGY MANAGER

FlexRack is an integrated solar company that offers custom-designed, fixed tilt ground mount and single-axis solar tracking systems in the commercial and utility-scale solar mounting industries. FlexRack also offers full services, including engineering, geotechnical, pullout testing, field, and layout design services to address the actual site conditions of a project site. FlexRack has completed over 3.5 GW of solar racking installations in over 40 U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces and across the globe.
SUMMARY
The Corporate Strategy Manager is responsible for supporting the key growth initiatives of renewable energy development business in the US region by coordinating development strategy, market intelligence, M&A activities (solar and storage) and new business/strategic development initiatives (data center, hydrogen, long duration storage, block chain, etc.).
This role will directly support all teams in terms of specific research, opportunity origination, valuation and execution. This role will be responsible for the creation and delivery of analysis that enables data-driven, informed decision-making in complex, new and changing business environments, and present to Headquarters (HQ).
This position reports to the Head of Strategy & Planning, or another senior management personnel that the Senior President of the Company may designate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
40% – Market Research and Competitive Analysis
- Acquire, research, structure and analyze data from public, industry and proprietary sources
- Independently develop and maintain business intelligence databases for the development team
- Monitor market trends, build analyses, produce presentations, identify and review potential acquisition targets, present to senior executives
- Guide and perform analyses related to industry, competitor, and technology dynamics and trends (e.g., market sizing, competitive landscape mapping, customer segmentation) that inform the company’s strategy
- Guide and perform financial analyses that help in the evaluation of strategic options, including financial outlook, NPV, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
40% – Developing winning strategies to become top tier Solar Tracker Company
- Lead the development of recommendations and the strategy for growth (in the core and new business areas), including where to compete and how to win (e.g., competitive advantage).
- Communicate findings/recommendations with management and support business collaboration discussions with key stakeholders.
- Drive project-based strategic initiatives end-to-end from problem definition and project scoping to delivery of recommendations to the executive team
- Work cross-functionally, including building consensus and influencing decision making Support and organize cross-functional collaboration with internal development focused teams
- Partner with other departments and affiliates and help support the annual strategic planning process and execution/implementation plans, especially with regard to road-map on future products
- Manage project-specific workstreams, including internal approval processes and external customer responses as process manager with regard to R&D
- Provide strategic support for Monthly Business Reviews, Executive/Investment Committee meetings, group requests/meetings, and C-level client engagements as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or a related technical field; MBA preferred
- Minimum 3 years professional experience with strong quantitative analytics background; experience in management consulting or corporate strategy is preferred
- Energy industry experience is preferred; familiarity with renewable energy preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Self-directed with ability to work independently and effectively lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate with cross-functional teams at multiple levels of the organization
- Advanced computer skills - MS Excel, Word, Power Point, data management or visualization tools
- Business operations and/or financial management experience is a plus
- Extraordinary business judgment and ability to assess impact of decisions on overall business performance
- Strong project management skills and can manage scope, meet timelines, and present insights to senior leaders within the organization
- Must be bilingual in English and Korean

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
